Why Edible Landscapes?
Edible Landscape aims to transform as much cultural landscape as possible into biodiverse, edible, and livable spaces. Landscapes that nourish… us as people, animals, the soil, and future generations.
Places where we can once again form a creative relationship with our natural environment and together build a valuable, ecological future.
As a landscape designer, I’m happy to guide you from A (apple) to Z (Ziziphus) in designing and establishing your food forest or agroforestry system. Whether it’s a homestead, agricultural land or public space – every landscape is unique and requires a customized approach.
Together, we arrive at a landscape that fully aligns with your wishes, needs, and dreams and aligns with the power of the land.
What is a food forest?
A food forest is a designed ecosystem filled with edible and useful plants, modeled after a natural forest. By mimicking the layered structure of a forest edge, a vibrant and productive cultural landscape emerges where every species plays a role.
Trees, shrubs, perennials, climbers, and root crops strengthen one another. This creates a system of synergy that is largely self-sustaining in the long term.
A mature food forest is a place of abundance:
- Nuts, Fruits, Berries
- Herbs, Salads, Mushrooms
- Roots, Tubers, Medicinal Plants
- Reef wood, Firewood, Paint Plants
- Honey, Juices and More — All Year Round
